Deter Aphids and make delicious Tea too

But don’t be greedy – leave some foliage too, to do the valuable task of repelling Aphids and other sucking pests.
Thus Nepeta cataria ssp citriodora has long been prized as an insect repelling companion plant.
But also valued because it attracts beneficial pollinating insects, as well as deterring Aphids.

Attract bees & useful pollinators

So bees, butterflies, and small native honey-eating birds go into rather a drunken frenzy over the sweet nectar and pollen.
For this reason Lemon Catmint is often used as a companion plant in veggie patches and orchards, and makes a good, hardy herb pot to move around where you want it.
In traditional companion planting Lemon Catmint is used to help distract the ever pesky Cabbage White Butterflies away from your cabbages.

Though you can also give your pussy cat a treat and harvest some leaves to pop in their bedding. Some cats find the scent of Lemon Catmint very soothing, and it can help deter fleas. Though personally speaking, every cat we have ever been slaves to, never needed any help to get a good days sleep.
On the other hand, rabbits and deer to not find Lemon Catmint attractive.
