Lunaria rediviva
PERENNIAL HONESTY

Pretty Lunaria rediviva has scented lilac-pink flowers in showy clusters, through spring into summer.

Then the flowers are followed by the translucent oval seed pods so beloved by florists.
And it is these lovely stems of see-through seed pods that give Lunaria the common name of “Silver Dollar Plant”, as well as the name “Honesty”.

Whichever name you call it, it is always hardy, easy, and low maintenance.

Happily self-seeds around under trees & shrubs in Shade or Dappled Sun.

Frost hardy perennial (Not an annual like many other Lunaria).

Easy tough grower, and very quick and easy to raise from seed60cm H x 45cm W.

SEED SOWING ADVICE: EASY – SCATTER IN GARDEN
Suitable for beginners and kids

Best scattered outdoors in garden during autumn or winter, as seeds need some winter cold before emerging in spring.

Lunaria rediviva will then self-seed itself each year.

Can also be sown Indoors if needed.
INDOORS: Sow seeds in punnets on surface of good quality seed raising mix.
Then barely cover with sieved mix /grit/sand.
Because these seeds need light for best germination.

Now place the sown, moist punnet in a warm, well-lit position for 2-4 weeks (not in direct sun).
Temperatures of 18-22°C are ideal for rapid and optimum germination.
Though these seeds are very unfussy and willing to germinate.
Continue to keep moist.

After 2-4 weeks, then wrap the moist, sown punnet in cling wrap or a plastic bag.
And place it in the fridge (not freezer) for 4-6 weeks.

After 4-6 weeks remove from fridge, unwrap punnet & return to 18-22°C. in a well-lit position. Seedlings will then emerge in approx. 30 days.

SEED COUNT: 15 seeds per pack approx.
( We always aim to exceed the seed count and give a generous serve).
