Limonium latifolium syn. L. platyphyllum
SEA STATICE

Limonium latifolium foams with summer clouds of lavender, made up of the tiniest, finest everlasting papery flowers billowing up in large heads.

Billowing clouds of the finest flowers

Limonium latifolium is treasured by florists for providing some of the best cut or dried flowers going.
So it is often farmed as a large scale cut flower crop.
But it also makes an invaluable garden plant for home gardeners, where it does double duty providing attractive garden shows as well as armloads of cut flowers.
Attractive grey-green foliage rosettes also contribute to making it attractive in the garden.
But it is the airy, misty look of the clouds of teeny flowers that makes it a garden treasure.

Super hardy & water-wise

Limonium latifolium is no trouble to have in the garden.
It is such a hardy and easy to grow plant because it tolerates periods of drought, heat, wind, sandy or poor soil, as well as frost.
Though it does appreciate some lime in spring and autumn, and a well drained position.
But it will sulk and moulder away if planted in heavy or wet soil.

Trouble free & easy to grow

Limonium latifolium is largely free from any pests and diseases, providing it is well drained and given plenty of sun and air.
Mercifully rabbits and deer seem to find it distasteful, while bees and beneficial pollinating insects cant resist the clouds of nectar rich flowers.
Plant in Full Sun.

Evergreen perennial clump 45cm High in clouds of flowers x 45cm Wide flat rosette of foliage.
