Geranium pratense ‘Rose Queen’
ROSE CRANESBILL

Geranium pratense ‘Rose Queen’ is the lovely silver-pink version of the much loved, (and usually blue) Meadow Cranesbill.
So ‘Rose Queen’ bears the most delightful, large, soft silver-pink single blooms. Each fetchingly laced with rose pink veins.

But otherwise it is equally as easy growing, handsome and hardy as the usual blue flowered form.

Geranium pratense ‘Rose Queen’ makes an evergreen, mounded perennial clump of attractive cut foliage. So it makes a lovely groundcover when massed, or a fine individual plant in a mixed bed. or in a pot.

Plant ‘Rose Queen’ in Part Shade, Dappled Sun to Full Sun.
Where it is very frost hardy.
And also easy to grow and low care.

So it is ideal planted under trees and shrubs, as well as in flower beds.
And often used as a pretty companion amongst roses, or as an overplanting for bulbs to follow on from them as they die down.

30cm High in delightful bloom  x 60cm Wide attractive foliage dome.

SEED SOWING ADVICE:

Sow in punnets indoors at any time / or scatter in garden late winter-early spring.

INDOORS: Sow seeds in a punnet on the surface of good quality seed raising mix.
Then press the seeds gently to the surface to ensure good contact.
Now barely cover with grit/mix/sand/vermiculite.

Continue to keep the punnet moist for 2-4 weeks.
Temperatures of 15-20C are recommended for best results.

Then wrap the moist, sown punnet in cling wrap & place in fridge (not freezer) for 4-6 weeks. R

Finally remove from fridge, unwrap punnet & return to 15-20 °C place.

Most seedlings should emerge in approx. 30 to 90 days. But do not discard punnet, as some seedlings may come later.

SEED COUNT: 5 seeds per pack approx.
(Seed of this uncommon variety is scarce, but we always aim to exceed the stated seed count, and give a generous serve).
