Frost hardy and tolerates summer dry well. Suits wide range of soils, including seaside, sandy, and clay. Excellent cut flower. Edible.
SEED SOWING ADVICE:
Sow any time indoors in punnets.
Or scatter directly in garden in autumn and winter where they will emerge in spring after winter chilling.
Indoors for early plants: Soak seeds overnight in clean warm (not hot) water. Then sow on surface of good quality, moist seed raising mix. Barely cover seeds with mix/coarse sand to maximum of their own diameter. Cling-wrap punnet. Place in fridge for 4-6 weeks. Bring out to 15C. Need dark to germinate, so cover punnet with card or black plastic between waterings. Seeds may begin to sprout after approx. 30 days. But do not discard punnet as seeds will continue to germinate.
SEED COUNT: 30 seeds per pack approx.
(We always aim to exceed the stated seed count, and give a generous serve).
