Large waxy bells in shades of plum, raspberry, pink & white really catch the eye with this mix of all different Campanula punctata colours.

And each large, blowsy bell is adorned with creamy edges & dark spots.
There are no shrinking violets amongst these bold girls. They really know know to put on a show over spring, and summer.

Commercial quality cut flower

The tall stems of big waxy bells make superb and long lasting of cut flowers.
So they are farmed commercially for the florist trade as well as making tough and rewarding garden flowers.

While the foliage makes a dense, low carpet year-round.
Then the flower spires tower some 75cm. above on clean stems, just perfect for cutting or leaving to chime in the garden.

Tough, tenacious survivor

Plant in Full Sun to Part Shade.
Campanula punctata is a tough survivor.
Because it is robustly frost hardy, and will make a go of it in a wide range of soils including clay.
If given too rich a position in can even become a little bit too much of a good thing. So don’t overfeed and plant it where you don’t mind it making a bit of a carpet.

Low maintenance

Hardy and easy perennial clump, with little work or maintenance involved.
Harvest the flower stems regularly, or once a round of flowering has finished, shear off the spent flower stems right back to the socks.
Otherwise Campanula punctata is undemanding and very rewarding.

SEED SOWING ADVICE: QUICK & EASY

Scatter in garden in spring or autumn / or sow in a punnet indoors at any time.

INDOORS: First scatter the seed on the surface of good quality potting mix.
Then gently pat the seed to the surface of the mix to ensure good contact, but do not cover with mix.
because these seeds need light for germination.

Now thoroughly moisten by standing the punnet in a shallow water bath.
And allow the moisture to percolate up to the surface of the mix from below.

Than place the moist, sown punnet in a warm, well-lit position.
You can use a heat mat if you have one.
But it is not essential as a warm window sill is also suitable.
Because these seeds are willing germinators.

Temperatures of 18-20C are best for rapid and optimum germination.

Continue to keep moist by misting from a spray water bottle.

Seedlings emerge in approx. 14-28 days.
